Our Strategy
We have a long-term strategy to develop Virgin Wines with the aim of becoming the dominant force in online drinks retailing, and to grow market share in the significant UK wine, beer and spirit markets.
Underpinned by our strong brand and well-invested infrastructure, our strategy is centred on driving growth in our core wine offering by acquiring new customers. We continue to develop our corporate and gifting channels as well as our range of beers and spirits.
Core wine business
Growing the business by acquiring large numbers of new customers. To drive this growth we will continue to develop our partnerships, and invest in targeted and insight-led digital and above the line marketing campaigns.
We then seek to retain those customers by delivering a first-class online retail experience.
Commercial
We intend to grow our corporate offering by commercialising our existing pipeline of corporate partners whilst leveraging our bulk supply model. We also have plans to enhance our corporate offering by developing new propositions such as ‘wine in a can’, Tetra Pak or P.E.T. packaged products. We expect this innovative approach to open new opportunities.
Gifts
We plan to develop our gift channel through initiatives such as personalised products, hampers and premium packaged gifts.
Beers and spirits
We introduced our beers and spirits offering in 2019 to take advantage of the growth opportunities in the UK craft beer and craft spirits markets. We intend to grow this channel with a range of premium, yet lesser known products and also develop a Virgin Wines exclusive range, replicating our proven and successful wine buying model.
